Xanga?

Sometimes I like to come here and look around. Maybe I do it now more because I've been reminiscing more recently. In fact, I'll go ahead and say that's why. But regardless, here I am, and for some reason, I'm writing a new post. Funny.

I'm a senior in college, and I think we need to start this Xanga thing back up. Who's with me?

Life is crazy. I just felt like you guys should know that. I'm still never sure what to make of it. Pray for me, if anyone ever happens to read this. Thanks.

88,000 aren't always right.

Note to Texas coach Mack Brown: if your quarterback is looking hurt, you probably shouldn't keep him playing.

And if you do make the mistake of keeping him in, you should at least PAY ATTENTION to what's going on.

To quote coach Brown after he missed the hit that sent Freshman quarterback Colt McCoy to the hospital with a severely pinched nerve (and please note that Brown didn't see the hit, only heard the noise that was made afterwards): "It sounded like 88,000 thought it was dirty."

And Coach, it looks like here is one person who thinks you are an idiot.

As if it was already obvious that he was hurt (the commentators repeatedly mentioned that he looked bad in the fourth quarter), one certain play should have tipped him off. After McCoy threw his second interception, there actually WAS a dirty hit. It sent McCoy to the ground and ended with the A&M player being ejected. That play should have resulted in two things: Brown should have realized that the game was out of reach at that point, and he should have benched the already hurting McCoy.

But no, not coach Mack Brown.

Yet another quote from the great coach: "I never thought we'd lose. I thought we still might make a play."

Congrats coach. Because of your boneheaded attitude and your inability to pay attention to the condition of your players, you have injured a young man.

88,000 may have thought it was dirty, but it never would have happened if you had used your brain.

Joseph Craven Presents: Things That Nearly Make Me Cry

Jesus, with Thy Church abide,
Be her Savior, Lord, and Guide,
While on earth her faith is tried:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

May her voice be ever clear,
Warning of a judgment near,
Telling of a Savior dear:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

Keep her life and doctrine pure,
Help her, patient, to endure,
Trusting in Thy promise sure:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

All her fettered powers release
Bid our strife and envy cease,
Grant the heav’nly gift of peace:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

May she one in doctrine be,
One in truth and charity,
Winning all to faith in Thee:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

May she guide the poor and blind,
Seek the lost until she find,
And the broken hearted bind:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

May her priests Thy people feed,
Shepherds of the flock indeed,
Ready, where Thou call’st, to lead:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

Judge her not for work undone,
Judge her not for fields unwon,
Bless her works in Thee begun:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

All that she has lost, restore,
May her strength and zeal be more
Than in brightest days of yore:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

Raise her to her calling high,
Let the nations far and nigh
Hear Thy heralds’ warning cry:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

May her lamp of truth be bright,
Bid hear bear aloft its light
Through the realms of heathen night:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

May she holy triumphs win,
Overthrow the hosts of sin,
Gather all the nations in,
We beseech Thee, hear us.

May she thus all glorious be,
Spotless and from wrinkle free,
Pure and bright, and worthy Thee:
We beseech Thee, hear us.

Callie told me to update this, so here it is:

Hey fellas, here's three points of advice:

1). Keep rocking.

2). There are good people in this world.

3). Music make you lose control.

Any questions can be directed to me. Thanks a lot.

-Joseph
